Who should complete this 8 Hour HAZWOPER training?
This HAZWOPER training course is built for managers or supervisors of site workers described in 29 CFR 1910.120 paragraph (e), who work at “uncontrolled hazardous waste sites” like Superfund sites or other hazardous substance cleanup sites. This course may be used to help satisfy initial HAZWOPER training mandates at 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(4) and (e)(8).
How much training do HAZWOPER supervisors need?
29 CFR 1910.120(e)(4) requires supervisors and on-site managers who supervise hazardous waste cleanup operations to receive:
-
40 hours of initial HAZWOPER training (may be reduced to 24 hours in some cases)
-
8 hours of additional training on specialized supervisor topics
-
Three days of supervised field experience
Note: This course is designed to meet the 8-hour HAZWOPER "specialized supervisor topics" training requirement only and does not include hands-on training on equipment that employees may need to begin work at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites.
